For their second outing at CHAN 2024, Tanzania waited until the final minute of regulation time to overcome a solid and well-organized Mauritanian side.

It was Shomari Kapombe, the veteran and defensive mainstay of Simba SC, who delivered the breakthrough for the Taifa Stars by scoring the only goal of the match.
