According to CBS Sports' Garrett Podell, the Kansas City Chiefs are the winners in the Wanya Morris trade to the Atlanta Falcons. The deal orchestrated by general manager Brett Veach earned a 'B' grade in comparison to the Falcons' garden of 'C'.

"Kansas City traded a player it didn't view as part of its future and managed to move up a round in the 2027 NFL Draft," wrote Podell, "That's a nice piece of business for Chiefs general manager Brett Veach, even if the move was only from the seventh round to the sixth."

Kansas City is trading Morris with a 2027 seventh-round pick and receiving a 2027 sixth-round pick. He had started 16 games for the Chiefs since being selected 92nd overall in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He was recently granted permission by Kansas City to pursue a potential trade after falling in the roster depth chart.

Morris missed the remainder of last season following a knee injury he suffered in Week 14 during the first play from scrimmage.
