SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Catalyst 18U are your 2026 USA Softball South Dakota state champions after a 10-4 win over the Renegades in a winner-take-all final game.
Catalyst 10, Renegades 4(Championship Game 2)
Catalyst got out to a 1-0 lead thanks to a passed ball in the top of the first, but it was a six-run explosion in the third that powered this victory. Tya Devericks, Brekkyn Dreesen and Elyse Gross each hit two-run home runs in alternating at-bats to blow things open. Desiree Hinsch was able to keep the Renegades bats in check as well for the state championship win.
Renegades 6, Catalyst 4(Championship Game 1)
The Renegades continued their great play from the semifinal matchup in this game scoring five of their six runs in the first inning. Hayden Kok led off the game with a homer to dead center and the Renegades were off from there. Catalyst would make things interesting but the Renegades pitching staff held serve to force a final game three.
Renegades 10, Hot Shots 6(Semifinal)
In the semifinal matchup, the Renegades bats were the difference maker as the Hot Shots were unable to keep up their solid pitching performances from prior games in the tournament as they would bow out in the semifinals while the Renegades would play for a state title.
