MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WDHN)—It was a season to remember for the Carroll Eagles, but their road to a state championship ends in Montgomery.

The Eagles faced the St. Paul’s Episcopal Lady Saints, with the winner advancing to the regional finals.

This wasn’t the cleanest game in terms of ball security by both squads, as St. Paul’s surrendered 28 turnovers while Carroll had 26.

For the Eagles, their defense was up to par, forcing their opponents to shoot 39% from the floor and 15% from beyond the arc.

But their offense unfortunately had similar results, making just one three-pointer on 11 tries, and shooting 16-54 on the night.

The team’s shooting slump, coupled with poor ball control, would ultimately be what took the flight out of the Eagles.

Carroll would go on to fall by a score of 60-49.
