Nope. Rosen was historically awful last year and every other comparable QB has not been a top QB in the NFL.

Facts.

I'm not sure if the above post was Krang "trolling" or he thought he was stating facts. But I didn't have to look far (first one I thought of).

NFL QB whose first season in the NFL was statistically worse than Rosen's rookie stats. This QB went on to have a pretty successful career. As a bonus I also included stats from this QB's second season in the NFL, in which his stats were still equivalent with Rosen last season.

Code:
ROSEN
G GS Comp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Int Sck SckY Rate
  14 13 217 393 55.2 2,278 5.8 11 14 45 320 66.7

OTHER
  11 -- 155 293 52.9 1,749 6.0 9 18 19 155 55.7

15 -- 226 399 56.6 2,579 6.5 11 18 39 288 66.6

The OTHER QB in the above stat chart -
Troy Aikman

I am not intending to imply that Rosen's career will come close to that of the other QB, the point is we simply don't know yet. But I saw enough last year to suggest it would be foolhardy to prematurely quit on Rosen. . .

Totally different era. You cant compare stats from 30 years ago to today.

Very good??? 88.5 rating is not "very good".

This is what I'm talking about. For Rosen last year, very good was an average to below average game.

For most of us who watched the entire excruciating season, except for a few really good throws, we could classify, let's just say Josh was average for a rookie on a bad team. Rosen didn't have much going for him with either the line play, WRs, his team mates or coaching. Could he have shown better? Yes, imo and I think he will be better this season. I've going to stay in my lane, bro. No one is a sure thing but I've decided to go with those that say Keep Rosen, draft Bosa.... In case anyone is interested in keeping score so those of us who deserve it can be laughed at later. Once you've had colon surgery as I have with Dr's and nurses poking you just about anywhere you wouldn't want to be poked, you learn a sense of humility to where being laughed at is easy money.... Child's play actually.

In a spirit of further humiliation, I present a feeble attempt at Haiku

. Murray In The Wings.
. Bosa Taken As The Pick.
. Cry For The Children.

.
I won't quit my day job.

Historically awful?

Better rookie year than Aikman. Similar QB's of similar size (and from UCLA). Aikman got better as they placed other pieces around him.

Can we stop talking about Murray in this thread and, instead, talk about the prospect of Chandler Jones and Nick Bosa averaging 25 sacks per game if paired together?

Bosa has a high/safe floor. I think it would be the equivalent of Chandler Jomes/Mario Williams duo which you can sign me up for right now.

It's hard to say "Captain Steal Yo Girl" out loud.

Well, yeah, the guy is a shorty (a very talented shorty)... but of course what would you expect given his height, any shorty comment falls short lol
That's a wee bit overboard taking a miniscule part of the meaning and diminishing the tiny fact that being under sized is just short--sighted ...:)
