No reason to sign this guy if they are willing to play both Simmons and Collins
Yeah, people following the team seem to want to explain this as depth but that is a load of crap, because if you are rebuilding I would expect a late round pick to possibly be that with some upside... I think Collins sticks, but Simmons I bet is on the trading block come draft day

Kazyr white and Barnes the new starters
I do expect Collins playing solb and Simmons traded
Is it possible the rumors of moving Simmons to edge rusher? Also, would they put him next to Buddha?

I'm assuming it's on the cheap. Yes, it's silly to be signing linebackers in our situation, but this is nothing but a depth move.

It makes me think we'll be going heavy on the lines during the draft.
Way to absolutely pigeonhole ourselves and be dumb in the draft, if that's the case.

in truth these are neither good or bad moves. They are just meh. If we draft an off-ball LB they will be stranger.
They’re moves that don’t build the roster or upgrade anything.

These are moves that good teams make in the desultory weeks before training camp.

It’s the second week of free agency: do you know what your starting lines are?

Yup. In the grand scheme of building a winning franchise, not meaningful.

Strictly a special teams cover guy. He’s a heady player who’s hard to fake and disciplined in penalty avoidance. About 50/50 to make roster.
Christ-o-mighty. As opposed to some talented late-round draft picks we can cultivate to become possible contributors down the line. This team is cooking with gas man, I tell ya!
