Per Weinfuss:

"An NFC source believes the starting price for Murray, if Arizona is interested in trading him, could start with a second-round pick. That source believes if the Cardinals can trade Murray, they will. The league source believes Murray's market starts with a third-round pick.

It just takes two teams who are interested to bump up his value and I would take a 2nd rounder any day of the week for Kyler just to move off his contract. Hopefully the Jets and Steelers get into a bidding war. Or maybe the Browns or Vikings get desperate and throw their hat into the ring as well.

from your typing fingers to the eyes of the football gods brother!!
LMAO, having 4 teams competing for Kyler would be the absolute highlight of Cards fans off season!!
Half in awe that we might get value...
while the other half screams that they were right all along because the interest proves he is the goat

It really should depend on what the new coach wants. I don't anticipate getting an unconditional second. A third with conditions is probably the best that can be gotten if that is the direction the next coach desires.

We will get a bag of potato chips and a nice cold beer that we will pay for ourselves.

Here is the real article by Weinfuss vs the fake Donnie article on SI:

The Cardinals, however, may have ended up as the biggest benefactor of Moore out of the picture, because Kyler Murray's trade value increased, according to multiple sources.

"One less quarterback on the market makes desperation increase," the source said.

ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. has Mendoza going No. 1, and he said there isn't another clear-cut first-round QB in the draft, at this point.

An NFC source believes the starting price for Murray, if Arizona is interested in trading him, could start with a second-round pick. That source believes if the Cardinals can trade Murray, they will.

The league source believes Murray's market starts with a third-round pick.

That source compared Murray's situation with Geno Smith's when he was traded from Seattle to Las Vegas last March for a third-round pick. The source pointed out that Smith was more consistent during his last season with Seattle than Murray was in his five games with Arizona this season, however, the source added that Murray "is a more talented player."

I mean, yes to a 3rd and HELL YES to a 2nd, but right now, I'd take a 6 pack of Iron City, and it doesn't even have to be cold.

Hollywood Brown went for a 1 - I think with the QB market being trash both in FA/Draft people might be surprised at the return, and all you need is 1 dumb team!
Brown was still on his rookie deal and was coming off his best year as a pro after a slow start in the previous two years due to COIVD. We paid him $15.5 million total, which included the 5th year option. Had be balled out, we extend him, but he didn't and we were able to walk away clean. Anyone that trades for Kyler will need to commit some major money for a few years, no apple to apple here.

Brown's contract status was the reason he was traded - it was a terrible risk and a complete failure.

I don't think I need to mention the long list of ridiculous assets given up for questionable QB's - Kyler SHOULD have some value - he's a high floor low ceiling option that someone probably thinks they can fix.

1000% a failure, but doesn't change it was a different circumstance.

You're missing the point - the point is that questionable assets can garner a better return than one might expect. Lots of media voices are of the opinion they'll have to release him or get 6ths or 7ths. I'm not necessarily of that view.

Again, not apples to apples. We overpaid for Brown because Kyler wanted him and WR was a hole and Brown was cheap. Plus, most teams could use a deep thread WR.

For Kyler, how many teams are there? Maybe 3? Jets, Dolphins, Steeler? Maybe Atlanta too? Jets probably take Simpson at 16. Steelers and Falcon would have to make some moves to create space for Kyler. Dolphins are over the cap. So, you have two suiters and the Steelers never mover pay. We will be lucky to get a 3rd or 4th for Kyler. These teams will just wait for him to be released if we demand a 2nd. No one is churring a roster for Kyler because they know we are desperate to move on. Ownership bugled this from the start and we will not very little.

You're explaining why people overpay - that's literally my point.

My dude - I said lots of media voices are of the opinion they'll have to release him or get 6ths or 7ths. I'm not necessarily of that view. I'm not expecting a 1st, and a 2nd might require a pick contribution from us, but I don't think he'll either be released or for a token 6th or 7th.

I’d love to hear the long list of ridiculous assets given up for questionable veteran QBs since 2020. Feel free to include the fate of the GMs who made those trades in the following 12-18 months.
