While there's no action on the gridiron during the coronavirus pandemic, the Arizona Cardinals are switching gears to help both local restaurants and hospital workers.
The team's initiative is called
Cardinals Carry-Out. It started Monday, April 13 and runs through Friday, April 24, to coincide with the NFL Draft, held April 23-25.
The project has three main focuses: connecting fans with their favorite players' go-to local restaurants, gathering support for those restaurants and donating food to first responders.
Players shared their favorite locally owned restaurants throughout Arizona to encourage fans to order takeout.
An interactive map displays the restaurants along with their hours and menus.
