OK there had to be something really wrong with this guy to cut him now when we have so little depth and no real big bruising backs. Out of shape?

there had to be something wrong with him for him not to be on a roster at this point in the season. dude was NOT going to be our savior.

still makes me think we blew it by not trying to claim Blount off waivers. That was one of the rare big mistakes BASK has made.

So the good news is that Shaughnessy is coming back.

And Taylor gets a start so he has a chance to prove himself.

It is pretty remarkable we're in first place and going into a big game without our starting QB, WR and RB.

Cris Carter talked about this morning on ESPN he said people that are writing them off, they need a win badly but they are 9-3 and have been playing with missing guys all season. If any team can overcome missing 3 of their best offensive players it's them, but they BADLY need a win.

I actually believe Taylor may spark this offense. It's great to have a guy like Ellington who can hit a home run or gain big yardage, but it's a different mindset altogether when you have a bruiser that gains yards and lays out some dudes. It makes the Oline feel stronger and more aggressive.

That's why you have to have a bruising back. You just have to. Ellington isn't Charles like everyone says, but even that type of back gives you a different mentality on offense than a Marshawn Lynch.

KC is finesse, and it starts with their RB. We are a power team. Physical on both sides with deep shots on offense. That's the idea anyway. Couldn't do it with Ellington leading the way, especially hurt.

BA would love a power running game with an aggressive passing game and we can maybe get that with Taylor. I even think Grice would do better back there than Ellington. Duke is a situational back who can catch that you sometimes move in motion to the line to determine whether it's man or zone.

All the nonsense last year about him needing a heavy workload is a load of crap. He's not that type of player. His major advantage is that he can take it to the house at any time. You negate that when you play him as an every down back. The guy has been destroyed this year, just destroyed.

Maybe, but does Blount run a power scheme or zone blocking or with a lead FB? All that makes a difference. Maybe he just didn't fit what we do. You can't just plug players in if they have no clue what the blocking is. It's too late in the year to teach them.

Not saying you're wrong either, I'm just as baffled as you. But I'm sure there's a reason, they wouldn't just pass on an awesome RB when we suck at running...

They signed him because they have doubts about Grice.

Sounds to me like it was between Bush and Kerwynn Williams, and it looks like Williams must have impressed more than Bush did. Grice wasn't demoted, I imagine we will see more of him as well, especially with Ellington out.

I think we will have a runningback by committee with 3 backs this week.

1. Taylor: will likely start and get the majority of the carries
2. Grice: will get the ball some as well
3. Williams: possible spark or just in case we have another RB get hurt.

You may be right, but at the time we picked up Bush, Williams wasn't in the mix really. To me it's a sign to Grice that he needs to pick up his game.

Yamon, it would be real nice if Grice plays like a stud.

I thought Grice looked decent actually. He has a weird running style, very upright but fluid. He doesn't look like he's going fast but I thought he was okay.

Taylor is really who I want to see Sunday. People hate on Taylor for being slow, but he lays wood every time.

It will be interesting to see if this is a temporary cut or permanent one
