Remember that game well. Hard not to like Hanifin. He really was a decent H, and a phenomenal OL coach. Loved when he was smoking cigarettes on the sideline in tight games!

64 was my first year following the Cardinals. Started watching them after my beloved baseball Cardinals beat the hated Yankees in the 64 WS.

Giants were always a nemesis to us in the late 60’s and early 70’s.

Holiway was our HC then & he was the DC for the Vikings during their Purple People Eaters days. He was an awful HC, as our offense was pitiful. He was replaced by Coryell in 73 & then our offense boomed.

Browns were our rivals back then. Jim Brown was the GOAT of all RB’s.

Stallings was a good HC & maybe the unluckiest Cardinal coach ever.

Lomax to Green was the best combo in football for few years.

That was year 1 of Coryell, and even though we went 4-9-1, there were glimpses of things to come on the offensive side of the ball.

Steelers were awful & I remember being frustrated at not being able to score TD’s. Little did I know then that every Cardinal win should be cherished.

I remember being psyched up to see this team against the Eagles the day after my 11th birthday. I even got my father to return home a day early from a weekend camping trip so I could watch it on TV. Alas, the game was blacked out and I had to find it on AM radio. Jim Bakken missed a chip shot field goal in the end that would have given us the win.
