The NCAA Tournament didn’t end the way Cameron Boozer and the Duke Blue Devils had hoped, but his historic season still delivered plenty to celebrate.

Boozer once again made history Tuesday, becoming the first Division I player to win the National Association of Basketball Coaches’ Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year and Big Man of the Year awards. The organization, made up of more than 5,000 coaches across multiple levels, presents annual awards recognizing players and coaches for their on-court success and off-court excellence.

In a historic season, Boozer set a program record for the most win shares in a single season (10.4). He also finished the year with the third-most points (885) and rebounds (389) by a Blue Devil in a single season, the third-best player efficiency rating (33.7) and the second-best box plus/minus (18.7). That production earned him three of the NABC’s top individual honors.

Boozer has become the seventh Blue Devil to win the Player of the Year award, established in 1975, joining Cooper Flagg, Zion Williamson, JJ Redick, Jason Williams (twice), Elton Brand and Christian Laettner. As for the Big Man of the Year award, Boozer becomes just the fourth player in the award's 27-year history to be named the winner, joining Marvin Bagley III, Jahlil Okafor and Mason Plumlee.

Introduced in 2017, the National Association of Basketball Coaches’ Freshman of the Year award has been dominated by Duke. After Boozer was named the 2026 winner, exactly half of the players who have won the award played for the Blue Devils. Boozer joins Cooper Flagg, Vernon Carey Jr., Zion Williamson and Marvin Bagley III.

More awards are likely on the way for Boozer, who will likely prepare to enter the 2026 NBA Draft, expected to be among the top three players selected.
