In a sport where athletes can seem superhuman, New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye had a very down-to-earth moment with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. The moment was captured on video during Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.

The winds were blustering, and the snow was coming down in the second half of last Sunday’s game. Maye and McDaniels were busy trying to figure out how to combat a stifling Broncos defense. This would be a problem throughout the entire game, as Maye would finish with only 86 passing yards.

The second-year player relayed his concerns to McDaniels, and the longtime offensive coordinator used it as a teachable moment.

"This is hard. Good God," said Maye

McDaniels responded, "Listen to me. Look at me. It’s gonna be hard, but look, this’ll be the most rewarding six and a half minutes of our lives if we can get it done.”

Getting to the Super Bowl is not easy, especially for a young quarterback who went through three top-five defenses to get there. Nevertheless, Maye and the Patriots were able to do it in their first year with Mike Vrabel as the head coach.

They'll now have a chance to hoist a seventh Lombardi Trophy in franchise history if they can beat the Seattle Seahawks at Super Bowl LX.
