Cam Young will be looking to secure his third PGA Tour win of the season this week at the Rocket Classic.
Young has enjoyed a really successful season so far in 2026, but he has undoubtedly cooled off over the past couple of months.
The 29-year-old from New York won The Players Championship in March and then triumphed at the Cadillac Championship in May.
However, Cam Young has struggled for form since that victory at Trump National Doral.

That said, he was one stroke away from forcing a playoff at The Open Championship two weeks ago.
Cam Young could still win the PGA Tour Player of the Year award, but he probably needs one more win to have a chance of doing just that.
And the golf course this week in Detroit is tailor-made for him, it seems.
Why course designers may have given Cam Young an advantage at the Rocket Classic
Detroit Golf Club has undergone some renovations since the Rocket Classic last year.
There have been numerous fairway bunkers added and two of the par-fives have been turned into par-fours.
Young told reporters on Tuesday how that could be advantageous for him.
“Yeah, 17 never struck me as a really easy par 5. That tee shot, it’s one of those that it’s awkward almost in the sense that it’s so straight,“ he said.
“There really wasn’t a ton visually out there, it was kind of just fairway as far as you could see. There’s that pole in the distance that’s kind of a good target.

“Yeah, I played it yesterday. I hit a really good tee shot and I had 5-iron in, so it’s going to be a beast of a hole. I’d say the green is maybe, if anything, a touch simplified from what it was before. It’s just a little bit softer in terms of the slopes. So it will certainly make a change to the scoring just with those two par 5s now being par 4s.
“I haven’t seen No. 7 yet, but that between the two of them was more a hole that I feel like I should make 4. So I’m curious to see. I was looking at the yardage book yesterday and I’ll be curious to see how it plays. I think that the scoring will certainly see a shift, just those two holes are turned from relatively not easy par 5s but gettable par 5s and they’re going to be difficult holes in relation to par.
“Yeah, I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of it. I think if anything, it’s maybe advantageous for me to have a few longer holes. I’ve kind of played well here anyway, but I feel like I’ve been driving it well and that’s what’s going to be important on those longer holes. Yeah, looking forward to seeing how it plays.“
Cam Young comments on changes to Detroit Golf Club
Young revealed what he makes of the changes to the golf course when speaking to the press on Tuesday in Detroit.
“Yeah, I was able to play the back nine late yesterday and yeah, I mean, visually it’s far more dramatic than it was,“ he said.
“This is a very old-school golf course and felt very familiar to me to kind of Northeast golf. Everything’s kind of right in front of you. It’s flatter than at home in New York, but yeah, it’s always a place I really liked.
“Seeing the changes yesterday, I think it’s going to be a bit more challenging. There’s some more fairway bunkers in play and with the greens being expanded, there’s going to be some more hole locations.
“All in all, I think they made some cool changes and I’m looking forward to seeing the front today.
“I know they have two of the par 5s changed to par 4s and some length added, especially on the front nine, so looking forward to seeing the rest of it today.“
