Apparently Pace was rising. I thought of him as a late second, early third rounder..

NFL | C. Pace Continues To Rise - from www.KFFL.com
Fri, 21 Mar 2003 11:33:26 -0800

Updating previous reports, Len Pasquarelli reports for ESPN.com the draft stock of Wake Forest DE Calvin Pace continues to rise. At his workout this week, Pace weighed 267 pounds, ran in the mid-4.6s, and demonstrated surprisingly good skills in linebacker drills. He is garnering plenty of looks from the 3-4 defense teams.

This was a guy that was on the rise...I still don't think that it justifies using the #18 pick on him.

Do we play a 3-4?? No. This is proof that we paniced. Graves is in a job that is over his head.

Look at Detroit....Very good draft. The Mooch making a difference there. Rogers, Bailey, Redding....

Detroit will kick our butts this year and the Bengal game is in jepordy.

That's about the 5th time I've seen you misspell the word "panicked".

Yeah we might as well just not play heck on paper we already lost....

I think we got slightly jobbed losing out on McDougal which made us reach on pace... All reaches aren't bad time will tell.

Maybe, maybe not.

Rogers could just as easily not contribute dick this year. Bailey was the most overrated player in the draft, and was easily the 5th best player on his team (Georgia) if not the 8th. Redding has never been that productive and lacks straight line speed.

Yeah, Pace might have played in a 3-4, but he is 6'4 266, plenty big enough to play right end.
