Who it’s for: Golfers who want a fairway wood that launches easily, delivers dependable distance, and provides consistent performance from the tee and the turf.

What you should know: The new Quantum fairway woods are built to make solid contact easier and to deliver more consistent launch and spin, especially on shots struck low on the face. A redesigned sole and weight placement work together to improve forgiveness and stability without changing the familiar look at address.

The Deep Dive: Fairway woods can be both a friend and a frustration. They’re often a golfer’s go-to club off the tee on tight holes, yet they can be some of the toughest to hit cleanly from the fairway. With the Quantum family of fairway woods, Callaway’s engineers set out to make difficult shots more forgiving and predictable while keeping the shape and profile that many golfers already trust.

The first major update is the redesigned sole structure, which helps the club glide through the turf. The design, which Callaway refers to as a Step Sole, includes a larger internal hinge behind the leading edge and a thinner sole. It allows the lower areas of the face to flex more efficiently on thin shots—which are the most common mis-hit when players use fairway woods. This leads to higher launch and more consistent ball speed.

To complement that, the center of gravity (CG) has been pushed forward and low with the addition of internal tungsten weight. Up to 40 grams is strategically positioned behind the hitting area to keep spin under control while maintaining launch, producing the kind of flight that pierces the air instead of ballooning.

Every Quantum fairway wood also features a carbon fiber crown, which frees up weight from the top of the club and allows Callaway to fine-tune launch conditions across lofts.

Three Quantum head styles give fitters and players a wide range of options:

Quantum Triple Diamond is designed for faster swingers who prefer a compact, Tour-style head. With a forward center of gravity and lower spin profile, it’s built for workability and a flatter, more penetrating flight.

Quantum Max is the core model for most golfers, offering a generous footprint, neutral setup, and strong balance of forgiveness and distance. The adjustable hosel lets players fine-tune loft and trajectory.

Quantum Max D is built for golfers who want help squaring the face and hitting a controlled draw. Its internal heel weighting and high-launch setup make it ideal for players seeking an easier path to carry distance and straighter ball flight.

Quantum Max Fast is built for golfers who want help squaring the face and hitting a controlled draw. Its internal heel weighting and high-launch setup make it ideal for players seeking an easier path to carry distance and straighter ball flight.

For players who use their fairway wood from both the tee and turf, Quantum is meant to strike a balance—a club that’s fast and consistent without feeling demanding, and one that makes reliable contact less of an exception and more of an expectation.
