The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers rivalry reignited last NFL season, with quarterback Caleb Williams leading the Bears to two big wins over their division rivals.
One came ahead of the NFL Playoffs as Chicago went on to win the NFC North and claim the No. 2 seed in the NFC. The other arrived in the NFC Wild Card Round of the postseason, as the Bears eliminated the Packers and went on to play in the next round.
While neither team reached the Super Bowl, the Bears certainly had fans excited about what’s to come, thanks to Williams and the team’s other emerging stars, including Colston Loveland, Luther Burden III, and Kyle Monangai.
Meanwhile, Green Bay had a key member of their defense absent from their playoff game against Chicago, as Micah Parsons suffered a season-ending injury in the late part of the season. However, he’s eyeing a comeback this season, in time to play in at least one, if not both of the Packers’ games against Chicago.

With those games still months away, Parsons recently made headlines when he mentioned “Iceman” in a video teasing the NFL Top 100 players list for the upcoming season. It immediately had fans wondering if the Packers star really named Williams as the player he considers best overall in the league.
It appears that his comment could’ve been taken out of context to help tease the upcoming list, unless he truly feels Williams is his favorite player. In another clip, Parsons praised Williams’ Iceman celebration, but also issued a bold statement, suggesting he’s the fire to get rid of the ice.

“Just funny. It’s good jokes. Obviously, we’re football players on opposite teams, so it’s a little rivalry,” Williams said at a media session Thursday. “Nothing taken to heart. He said he’s fire and I’m ice, so let’s see which one holds over.”
“Probably not,” he said when asked if he’d ever vote for a Packers player as his favorite. “But that’s on my side of how I do things. But obviously he’s a phenomenal player.”
Williams emerged as one of the new superstars in the league last season, due to his highlight throws, including the incredible bomb he launched to receiver DJ Moore, who caught it for a touchdown against the Packers.
His jumping throw became an iconic pose, almost similar to Michael Jordan’s Jumpman logo, and also became Williams’ cover of the Madden NFL 27 video game. He’s clearly become an iconic athlete in Chicago in just a few seasons, leading to plenty of excitement for the team’s future success with him as QB1.
Meanwhile, the fierce Bears-Packers rivalry will continue this coming season, as they’ll first meet on Sunday, Oct. 11, which is a game Parsons might return for. He’s looking to return by Week 5 or 6, so if not that game, then he could play in a massive Christmas Day battle in Green Bay to stalk his favorite player on the field.
