During the media frenzy that saw Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams being named the cover athlete for "Madden NFL 27," there have been opinions coming from around the league among his peers.
In a teaser video released by the NFL for the upcoming Top 100 players of the 2026 season, Green Bay Packers superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons actually gave credit to Williams, despite the Packers and Bears bitter rivalry.
Parsons was very respectful and complimentary of Williams, although they'll have plenty of future matchups against one another in the rivalry, but Chicago's quarterback wasn't ready to pay back with kindness. Asked about Parsons' remarks about him and if he'd ever vote for a Packers player as one of the best in the league, Williams, smirkingly, said no and that's just not how he goes about things in the rivalry.
"It's cool, nothing else about that," Williams said, letting it be known he wouldn't vote for a Packers player. "Probably not. That's on my side of how I do things. Obviously he's a phenomenal player, you worry about him every single snap, kudos to him, and I wish him a speedy recovery."
Parsons is currently recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in December of last season, which forced him to miss two of the three matchups against the Bears, a rivalry that was re-ignited in the late stages of the year. In the lone game he played against Chicago, Parsons was held to just one tackle and zero sacks against Williams and the offense.
One of the biggest disruptors on defense in the NFL, Parsons will jump right back into the rivalry with his Packers and the Bears, a rivalry that Williams is not ready to give any sort of friendliness away for.
