The Chicago Bears had quite the miserable season last year, which made life quite difficult for rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, the top pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

Being the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft comes with plenty of attention, as does being the quarterback for a storied Bears franchise in desperate need of a star quarterback, so Williams has been in the spotlight from the very beginning.

During his first season with the Bears, Williams endured a 10-game losing streak, which included some gut-wrenching losses, while also cycling through three different offensive coordinators and two head coaches.

In a recent interview with "Esquire," Williams opened up on the emotions he went through during the losing streak, which isn't something all players would so honest about.

“I think those losses were pretty important for me and my growth,” Williams said. “To go on a losing streak, to be in this position and be at the helm of it, was definitely important for me. Just being able to see how I need to be when times are bad. When I got home, I got in my bed. I just dropped a few tears, and I was just so beat-up mentally, physically, spiritually."

Feeling the pain, and not being afraid to talk about it, Williams is showing vulnerability while also recognizing the opportunity for growth amid adversity. It's the kind of season Williams has vowed to never experience again, and it looks like the Bears are trending in the right direction.

With new head coach Ben Johnson running the show, and plenty of talent around him, Williams will be looking to take the team, and his career, to the next level and establish himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
