Caitlin Clark turns heads in San Francisco before Fever showdown with Valkyries originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Caitlin Clark’s West Coast road trip started with a baseball game and quickly turned into another viral sports moment.
Before the Indiana Fever take on the Golden State Valkyries on Thursday night, Clark made a public appearance at Oracle Park on Wednesday to watch the San Francisco Giants face the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Fever star was shown on the MLB broadcast sitting alongside her boyfriend, Connor McCaffrey, while wearing a Giants cap during the nationally televised game.
MLB later shared the moment across social media, posting a video of Clark in attendance with the caption: “WNBA star Caitlin Clark stopped by to catch a @SFGiants game. Between games of her own.”
MLB broadcast immediately reacted to Caitlin Clark appearance
The broadcast team immediately reacted to Clark’s appearance once cameras found her in the crowd.
“Caitlin Clark is here!” one broadcaster said during the telecast. “And she can play.”
At this point, Clark showing up at major sporting events has almost become expected. The Indiana Fever guard continues to be one of the biggest attractions in all of sports as her popularity stretches far beyond the WNBA.

Caitlin Clark is putting together another superstar season
The appearance came during another dominant stretch for Clark on the court.
Through the opening portion of the 2026 season, the former Iowa superstar is averaging 23.8 points and a league-leading 9.0 assists per game while posting career-best shooting numbers from the field, from 3-point range and at the free-throw line.
Clark has also remained at the center of headlines throughout the past week. She recently served as the official grand marshal for the Indianapolis 500 and was also involved in controversy after being removed from Indiana’s starting lineup shortly before tipoff during a May 20 win over the Portland Fire, leading to a warning from the WNBA over the timing of the late scratch announcement.

Fever-Valkyries matchup already carrying major attention
Now, Clark and the Fever are preparing for one of the most anticipated games on the early-season WNBA schedule against the expansion Golden State Valkyries at Chase Center.
The matchup already carried significant buzz because of the Valkyries’ strong fan support and the growing attention surrounding the league in Northern California. Clark’s appearance at the Giants game only added more energy to the atmosphere leading into Thursday night.
Wherever Clark goes right now, attention follows. Oracle Park became the latest example.
