Filming of the pilot has started. My oldest daughter watched this show long after it aired. She is excited to see the new one since it's a sequel and not a remake.

It's a great show. Season 1 is a bit rough though. Gets much better after it. I've been using it as my filler show lately some of the episodes are really good. @Covert Rain's daughter is spot on with s2,3 and 5.

As for the new series, I'll give it a shot but I'm very apprehensive about it. First it's bringing back an old show. Second Joss isn't involved. His voice was unique for it and a big part of why the show worked. Whedonspeak usually doesn't work when other writers try to copy it.

One hopeful thing though is that the showrunners did a couple shows in the past that I liked. None were Whedon-like though which still gives that worry.

According to James Marsters, a ton of writer have all been trying to get in on writing for the show. He said many of them were huge fans of the show. That might not translate into a great show but that also gives me some hope they know the voice. Plus, I would like to see some of the old writers pop in and out. Whedon depended a ton on his writing staff as well and most of them are still going strong. He had an eye for writing talent.
