The Buffalo Bills were not expected to keep offensive lineman Connor McGovern in a fold.

That idea only lasted a few days.

According to The Athletic's Dianni Russini, the Bills and their center have agreed to a four-year contract just days before the start of free agency on March 11:

McGovern anchored Buffalo's offensive line in the middle last year. Pro Football Focus ranked the Bills' O-line as the sixth-best in the NFL at the end of the 2025 season.

The agreement has come about despite McGovern telling The Athletic last week he had not heard from the Bills regarding a new contract. McGovern said he believed his tenure was believed to be "over and down with" in Buffalo.

Evidently, McGovern's words changed something. He also mentioned last week he'd like to remain in Buffalo... and now McDermott does.

Bills Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2026 offseason.
