FSU pitcher Bryson Moore has been drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates with the No. 198 overall pick in the 2026 MLB draft. He is Florida State's second pick of Sunday and fifth overall
Moore spent just one season in Tallahassee after starting his career with the Virginia Cavaliers. The righty made 14 starts for the Seminoles, serving as their Sunday starter. He finished the year with a 3.86 ERA and a 6-2 record.
He had the best start of his career against Virginia in April and was named the ACC Pitcher of the Week after throwing seven shutout innings with seven strikeouts, two hits, and a walk.
Moore started FSU's first game in the Tallahassee Regional, holding St. John's to two runs over five innings on six hits and a walk. He threw six or more innings in four of his starts, giving FSU valuable length as their No. 3 starter.
The Fairfax, Virginia native was limited by injuries in both of his seasons with the Cavaliers. He threw just 31 1/3 innings over two years, going 2-0 with a 2.59 ERA.
He is the third FSU pitcher taken already, joining Wes Mendes and Trey Beard as the entire weekend rotation has now been drafted.
