Bryson DeChambeau has discussed Yasir Al-Rumayyan’s surprise appearance at LIV Golf New York on Sunday.
Al-Rumayyan is the Governor of the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia – LIV Golf’s biggest financial backer until recently.
The former LIV Golf chairman withdrew the PIF’s funding in April this year and had not been seen at any tournaments since.
However, Al-Rumayyan was spotted watching this weekend’s event with United States President Donald Trump.

Bryson DeChambeau reacts to Al-Rumayyan’s surprise LIV Golf appearance
Yasir Al-Rumayyan met with Donald Trump and nine-time major champion Gary Player on the final day of LIV Golf New York.
While Trump’s appearance made sense, given that he owns the golf course, Al-Rumayyan’s appearance raised eyebrows.
Rumours have since emerged that the former LIV Golf chairman may not have completely given up on the league.
Bryson DeChambeau also did not know the reason for Al-Rumayyan’s visit and was unwilling to take any guesses.
“I think we all found out last night that he was going to be out here,” he said in his press conference after finishing T38.
“I think he needed to have some conversations with the president. That was a whole ‘nother thing. I’m not going to get involved with that.
However, DeChambeau was pleased to see the Saudi Arabian businessman despite his controversial decision earlier this year.
“But it was great to see him out here,” DeChambeau continued. “I think he’s done wonders for us and the global game of golf. I think there’s a great place for the PIF and where they want to be moving forward.
“Where that is, I’m not exactly sure. I have no idea. But I know that he’s supported golf for a long, long time, and as this transitions over hopefully into the new investor’s hands and into the players’ hands, we really have an opportunity to align a lot of the global incentives to be a force for good for the game.”
