During his appearance on Clemson’s 2 Right Turnspodcast with Olsen Patt-Henry, Bryant Wesco said he has officially been cleared by doctors after the injury that ended his 2025 season. The sophomore wide receiver said he was cleared in early May by a doctor in Pittsburgh, adding that the process was mostly about letting time do its job and getting the final medical approval.

Wesco was on track for an All-ACC season before the injury, catching 31 passes for 537 yards and a team-high six touchdowns in seven games.

Wesco admitted it was hard sitting on the sideline and watching after the injury, which makes sense. Nobody wants to be the dude in street clothes when the team is still playing, and you know you could be out on the field helping out. That part of rehab gets overlooked sometimes. Fans see the stat sheet and the injury report, but the player has to deal with the boring part: waiting, healing, and watching every other player keep going at it. Especially with the losing season Clemson had, I can't imagine how he felt having to sit back and watch.

Before going down, Wesco had already joined some ridiculous Clemson company. He became the fourth player in program history to reach 1,000 receiving yards in the first 15 games of a career, putting him beside Sammy Watkins, Artavis Scott and Justyn Ross.

Wesco caught 41 passes for 708 yards and five touchdowns in his 2024 freshman season, earning Freshman All-American honors while forming one of the best young receiver duos in the country with T.J. Moore. Even after missing half of 2025, he still became the first Clemson player since Justyn Ross to post at least 500 receiving yards and five touchdowns in both his freshman and sophomore seasons.

Clemson needs Wesco healthy if the offense is going to take the jump it keeps teasing. Chris Vezzina needs a true go-to receiver; the Tigers need explosives back in the passing game, and Wesco has already proven he can be that guy when he is on the field.
