The Browns' quarterbacks and rookies reported for training camp on July 23. It also meant the initial run of announcements regarding players who will start camp on one of the injury lists.
Veteran defensive tackle Maliek Collins was the first such announcement, as he was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list. He continues to recover from the quad injury he suffered in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers which required surgery.
Collins is eligible to be activated at any time once he's cleared by the medical staff. The Browns' veterans report July 28, with the first full-squad practice July 29.

Browns coach Todd Monken had suggested that Collins was not going to be ready to go at the start of camp when asked about it during the team's June minicamp. He did not offer up any timetable for a potential return.
Monken did say at the time Collins was the only player he expected to not be ready for training camp. The Browns had several prominent players not participating in minicamp due to various injuries.
Collins appeared in 12 games for the Browns in 2025 after signing as a free agent during the offseason. He recorded a career-high 6.5 sacks, along with 25 total tackles and one fumble recovery.
The 31-year-old and then-rookie Mason Graham were central to the interior pressure created by the Browns' defensive front while he was healthy last season, providing a counter to the pressure by eventual NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett off the edge. The Browns will look to players such as Mike Hall Jr., Kalia Davis, Adin Huntington and Sam Kamara to aid Graham on the inside until Collins returns.
That interior rush will be much more important this season after the Browns dealt Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams on June 1 for defensive end Jared Verse. Verse is a two-time Pro Bowler in two seasons in the league, but is still looking to establish himself as a double-digit sack player.
