Cleveland Browns fans have seen many interesting draft night moves from this franchise since they returned to Cleveland. They might be in for another one in just a few short weeks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

On Wednesday, the Browns hosted Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq for a pre-draft visit, signaling that Cleveland is not looking past him just because he is not a wide receiver. The Browns are desperate for elite pass catchers on their offense to supplement and support a young quarterback this year and probably next year. Sadiq is a talent that will likely be available in the middle of the first round.

Sadiq is a draft expert favorite because he is a freak athlete. He is everything that you could want at the tight end position. One year after the Browns struck gold last year by landing tight end Harold Fannin Jr., who is on the trajectory to be a great tight end in the league, they could be targeting his sidekick.

It is also important to note that Monken has made a lot of yards and scored a ton of points deploying an offense that has two tight ends on the field. Mark Andrews, paired with Isaiah Likely in Baltimore, was an unstoppable combination that produced a ton of success.

As Monken turns his attention to his offense in Cleveland, he could replicate that attack by securing Sadiq in the first round to pair with Fannin. It is important to note that Browns' general manager Andrew Berry has said that they view pass catchers "globally" and that would not just go for wide receivers, it would include tight ends as well.

Todd Monken’s had a lot of success with two tight end personnel in college and the NFL. A lot of questions have been raised about Cleveland’s WR room, but GM Andrew Berry has also said they view pass-catchers “globally,” which includes tight end. https://t.co/PTELarJkG9

What Sadiq could bring to Browns

Cleveland is desperate for elite playmaking on the offensive side of the ball. It is as simple as that. The Browns need to find a way to become an explosive offense, or even just a decent one, before the window on this elite defense closes completely.

In whatever scenario Cleveland has in mind to get Sadiq, this would be a very tough sell in the first round for Browns fans. While Sadiq has a ton of potential, he, too, is an incredibly risky selection. He possesses elite traits, but he did finish last year with just 51 catches for 560 yards and eight touchdowns across all 14 games.

Now, if Cleveland lands a wide receiver, their tackle, and then they have the opportunity to trade back into the first to get Sadiq at the end of the round, then they are making major moves. While that scenario is incredibly unlikely, I think that it would be a very tough sell to the fanbase and team if the number one pass catcher that Cleveland goes with is a tight end.

They are obviously interested in him, and if it works out, he won't hurt the roster; he just might not be the piece that Cleveland needs the most.
