The Denver Broncos still have enough salary cap space to make some free agent additions before the 2026 NFL draft.

As of the time this post is being scheduled, OverTheCap.com estimates Denver has $18.78 million in cap space. Spotrac.com estimates $19.63 million. Split the difference and the Broncos are projected to have right around $19.2 million in remaining cap space going into April.

So, what will it be used for?

A few more budget signings could be on the way (before or after the draft), and Denver needs to have some cap space going into the regular season to allow for in-season additions and players landing on injured reserve (they seemingly prefer to have about a $10 million cushion). Any unused cap space will roll over into the next offseason, increasing the team's 2027 cap total.

The Broncos also have to consider potential contract extensions, and they need cap space for their pool of draft picks (the draft pool is not a very significant number, though, because only the top 51 contracts count against the cap during the offseason). So while there's still room for new additions, the cap space does not guarantee any big moves ahead. If the Broncos don't use it, they won't lose it. The front office is always looking ahead, and the club appears to be on track to roll over some unused cap space into 2027.
