Draft Wire's Curt Popejoy is already looking ahead to the 2027 NFL draft, and he has an interesting early first-round projection for the Denver Broncos.
Popejoy believes that Oregon football standout defensive tackle A’Mauri Washington will be a solid draft pick for Denver at the 20th overall pick in his NFL mock draft. Washington, who is entering his senior season, had 33 tackles and 1.5 sacks and looks to anchor the Oregon defense in 2026.
“Washington is a massive interior defensive lineman who just eats up blockers and swallows up ballcarriers with surprising athleticism for a man his size," Popejoy wrote for Draft Wire.
While the 2026 NFL season hasn't even begun yet, you can bet that the NFL scouting departments across the league are looking at future draft prospects that could help boost their rosters. Washington, at 6-3 and 330 pounds, appears to be already NFL-ready. Let's see if a year from now, he will be a Bronco.
