The Denver Broncos are adding another former quarterback to their coaching staff.
The Broncos are set to hire Kyle Kempt as an offensive assistant, according to a report from ESPN's Adam Rittenberg. He served as Drake’s offensive coordinator last season, following six years at Iowa State, his alma mater. Before hanging up his cleats and transitioning to coaching, Kempt completed 66.7% of his passes for 1,962 yards with 15 touchdowns against four interceptions with the Cyclones.
Kempt is the latest former quarterback to join Denver's staff, joining head coach Sean Payton (Eastern Illinois), offensive coordinator Davis Webb (California), quarterbacks coach Logan Kilgore (Middle Tennessee State) and offensive quality control coach Favian Upshaw (Georgia Southern).
Denver will likely announce a finalized coaching staff in the coming weeks.
