After the 2025 NFL Draft, Jennifer Leechan of NBC Sports Bay Area reported that new Denver Broncos linebacker Dre Greenlaw suffered a serious quad injury that would cause him to miss substantial time.

Amid all the speculation, Greenlaw never came forward, and there was concern over how serious the injury was. During the Broncos' rookie minicamp, Broncos head coach Sean Payton broke his silence on the Greenlaw injury rumors.

Payton said of Greenlaw, "He's doing well, and will be a full participant in training camp."

Training camp for the Broncos doesn't begin in over a month, giving Greenlaw a good amount of time to rejuvenate and get ready for his practice debut in a Broncos uniform.

Greenlaw signed a solid three-year, $31.5 million deal. It's an important one for Denver, as the Broncos were looking for an off-ball linebacker heading into the offseason.

Greenlaw is one of the best out there, and only became available due to the 49ers concern over his injury history.

In 2024, Greenlaw played in just two games for the 49ers, both near the end of the year. He suffered an infamous injury in the Super Bowl, when he ran onto the field and suffered a torn achilles.

Across his six seasons in the NFL, all of which with the 49ers, Greenlaw has tallied 3 interceptions, one pick-six, 14 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, one fumble recovered for a touchdown, 3.5 sacks, and 455 combined tackles.

Greenlaw also has 18 tackles for loss, and has allowed a passer rating of 91.0 when targeted across his career.

Paytons confidence in Greenlaw being ready for training camp is a great sign for the Broncos free agent linebacker. Despite the concern from 49ers reporters that Greenlaw might be more hurt than initially thought, the update from Payton squashes those concerns
