With NFL free agency set to begin next week, the Denver Broncos have several positions to address on offense.
J.K. Dobbins is set to hit free agency, so Denver needs a new starting-caliber running back to pair with RJ Harvey. Another big need is tight end, and quarterback Bo Nix would undoubtedly appreciate another play-making wide receiver.
The Broncos could also add more depth and competition to the offensive line, and they'll need a new backup quarterback if the Jarrett Stidham trade rumors come to fruition. So that's RB, TE, WR, OL and QB — every position on offense — that could be addressed during free agency. Of course, some of those positions are more pressing than others.
Before the free agency frenzy begins, here's a quick look at the team's projected offensive depth chart.
Quarterback: 2
Sam Ehlinger is set to hit free agency next week. If the Broncos opt to trade Stidham, Ehlinger could be a candidate to replace him as the team's new QB2.
Running back: 3
Jaleel McLaughlin is set to hit free agency, but Tyler Badie is expected to return on an exclusive rights free agent tender. Denver will likely target big-name running backs during free agency.
Wide receiver: 5
The Broncos might be more likely to target receivers during the draft than in free agency.
Tight end: 2
Tight end is a huge need for the Broncos, especially with Engram facing an uncertain future in Denver.
Offensive line: 14
Denver's bringing Palczewski back on a two-year contract. He's currently projected as the top backup swing tackle/guard, but he could be promoted to a starting role if the team decides to trade Ben Powers.
NFL teams can begin negotiating with pending free agents from other clubs on March 9, but those players can't join a new team until the new league year and free agency officially begin on March 11.
