After nearly two months away from a Major League Baseball mound, Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Logan Henderson made his way back to the rotation.

Henderson got the starting nod against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday, marking his first since May 22 after a stint on the Injured List due to a low back strain. In his return, Henderson provided 5.1 innings of work and four strikeouts while allowing three hits, three earned runs and a walk.

The Brewers beat St. Louis, 8-4, and Henderson was assessed the winning decision, which marked his third-straight win and pushed him to 3-1 on the season.

Before Milwaukee’s series-opening game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday was postponed due to rain, Henderson joined MLB Network to discuss his All-Star break plans, the Brewers’ rotation and more.

"Yeah, I got a flight out of here Sunday night," Henderson said. "Going to Houston, back home, and going to spend some time with friends and family and just stay sharp because I got the first game back from the break."

Henderson is scheduled to face the Miami Marlins on July 17, who are currently 52-43 and in the midst of the National League Wild Card hunt.

While Henderson was rehabbing, starters such as Jacob Misiorowski, Kyle Harrison and Brandon Sproat made their marks in the rotation and kept things moving for the Brewers, and Henderson was asked to describe each of them.

"You know, I think of durability," Henderson said about Sproat. "He's gone out and posted every single five days this year, and he's been a huge guy in our rotation this year. So, it's been really cool to see him step up, especially the last month or two. And, yeah, he's been really special."

Even though Henderson has been familiar with Misiorowski’s game since both were minor-league pitchers, he is still in disbelief by what "The Miz" is doing on the mound.

"It's unbelievable," Henderson said. "I mean, I've come up in the system with him, and it never gets old, and he's taking it up a notch every start. And it's honestly.. I feel privileged to have a front row seat every game. So, I mean, it's unbelievable. I mean, you guys have seen it. I don't think there's anybody in the game doing what he's doing right now."

When it comes to Harrison's presence, there are opportunities to learn that have been afforded to Henderson.

"I've learned a lot from Kyle since he's been here," Henderson said. "And I think we have pretty similar arsenals. So, he's a guy that can ride it at the top, and he shows the guys that when you establish a fastball at the top, that you can really play everything off of that.

"So, it's fun to watch him throw before I do, because he kind of gives a script," Henderson added. "Obviously, he's from the left side, but what he's done this year has been no surprise, but he's stepped up for us in a huge way, and I've learned a lot from him, for sure."
