Logan Henderson is officially returning to the big leagues.

Brewers reporter Adam McCalvy of MLB.com confirmed the 24-year-old will be back with the Milwaukee Brewers for their series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday, July 9.

Henderson went on the Injured List after his start on Friday, May 22. Even though he went five scoreless against the back-to-back World Series champions, there was some discomfort in his back and he was placed on the IL as a precautionary measure.

Now, it's time for Henderson to pick up where he left off. Knowing the Brewers may be without Brandon Woodruff for the foreseeable future, this is a huge get for them as Henderson is able to make a start prior to the All-Star break.

Henderson is Back

Officially, Henderson is set to bring his 2-1 record and 2.74 ERA to Busch Stadium as he goes head-to-head with Cardinals' Andre Pallante. This was the lone mystery starter left in the five-game series, but Milwaukee gave St. Louis a solid days' notice before naming Henderson as their final starter.

The rest of the first half is already mapped out for the Brewers. Upon the completion of this series, they'll head into the All-Star break with three more on the road, this time taking on the Pittsburgh Pirates. Brandon Sproat, Shane Drohan, and Jacob Misiorowski will start those three games, in that exact order.

For now though, all eyes are on Henderson's return. The Texas native helps complete a three-headed monster with Misiorowski and Kyle Harrison, but one could argue Robert Gasser just threw his name in the hat as well. Drohan has been extremely solid, and Sproat continues to build himself up to be a true big-league pitcher.

Five tremendous starts in 2026

Henderson hasn't been perfect, but what he's done in his five starts this year can't go unnoticed. His 1.04 WHIP is phenomenal, and it is right around the 0.99 it was a year ago when he made his first five starts in the big leagues.

Sure, Henderson went 3-0 last year, but he's 5-1 in his career and that comes in just a 10 game sample size. The lone loss he recorded came on Sunday, May 3, in a start where he allowed just two earned runs in 6.0 innings.

Throughout his career, Henderson has been rock solid, and that's translated to 2026, a season that hasn't seen him give up more than two earned runs in a single outing.
