Brent Crews is fighting for a Chase spot and his first career NASCAR victory. Despite missing four races due to age restrictions earlier in 2026, Crews is 13th in the standings, only five points behind William Sawalich. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has been in and out of the Chase over the last few weeks.
In fact, Crews had one of the best cars in San Diego before a wreck took him out of contention. The driver of the No. 19 car finished in second place to Justin Allgaier in two straight races before San Diego. Crews has the speed and talent to make the 12-driver Chase this season.
Crews has been so close to winning his first NASCAR race in 2026, and the dam could break if he is able to enter victory lane. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver should be one of the favorites to win the championship if he can find a way to start winning, but he has to make the Chase first.
