The Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks have been up for sale for a little bit. Well, that is now over as the Estate of Paul G. Allen sold the franchise for $9.612 billion.
The Seahawks’ new ownership is the Khosla family, led by Neeru Khosla, who will be the team’s controlling owner. According to a statement from the Paul G. Allen Estate, the terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Also, the deal remains subject to NFL approval.
Seahawks’ New Owners Make Commitment to Franchise
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport posted online the Estate of Paul G. Allen’s statement.
Rapoport also noted that a new benchmark was set with this deal as it was closed for $9.612 billion.
ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter posted details of a memo sent to all NFL teams regarding the Seahawks’ sale that was announced on Saturday.
““Following a thorough sales process run by Allen & Co., the Estate of Paul Allen has reached agreement to sell the Seattle Seahawks to the Khosla family and several limited partners, subject to membership review and approval,” according to the memo.
“Allen & Co. reported very robust interest in the Club throughout the process, with the Khosla group emerging as the Club’s preferred buyer among multiple qualified bidders,” the memo continued. “The Khosla family currently owns a limited partner interest in the San Francisco 49ers and would be required to divest that interest.
“The Khosla family includes Neeru Khosla, who would serve as the controlling owner, Vinod Khosla, and their son Neal Khosla, according to the memo. “Neeru Khosal is an educator and entrepreneur. Vinod Khosla is a tech investor who co-founded Sun Microsystems and currently runs Khosla Ventures, which he founded.”
The Seahawks ended the 2025-26 NFL season as kings of the football world. Seattle defeated the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX to win a Super Bowl championship. Quarterback Sam Darnold had a dream season, and running back Kenneth Walker earned Super Bowl LX MVP honors.
With new ownership in place, the future of Seattle’s NFL franchise just got solidified. The Khosla family has big shoes to fill as the late Paul G. Allen, who co-founded Microsoft Corporation alongside Bill Gates, owned the Seahawks for some time before his death. After his death in 2018, ownership was transferred to his estate.
