Cornerback Brandon Stephens was one of the first signings made under the watch of new Jets head coach Aaron Glenn.
While Glenn does not experience as a head coach in his own right, that did not faze Stephens at all. In fact, the 27-year-old said inking a three-year deal in New York was the opposite of difficult because of the direction he believes Glenn is taking the Jets in.
"I did my homework," Stephens said. "It was a pretty easy decision for me."
Stephens will be looking for a bounce-back season in his own right, but he's going to get that chance in New York. He's slated to start across from No. 1 cornerback Sauce Gardner following the departure of DJ Reed.
While we'll see some September if Stephens can fill those shoes, at least linebacker Jamien Sherwood is already believing that's possible. Sherwood called Stephens a "long and physical" and thinks both Stephens and safety Andre Cisco will be positive additions to the Jets' secondary.
