Brandon Aiyuk's social media activity has bordered on bizarre the last few weeks as he's attempted to force his way off the San Francisco 49ers and on to the Washington Commanders. But it at least had an apparent purpose.
On Saturday, his actions took a turn that ditched all logic for someone whose value is already in the dumpster.
Aiyuk took a brief break in his campaign to join the Commanders to call out the team's quarterback, his former Arizona State teammate Jayden Daniels, who was a big part of why Aiyuk coming to Washington made sense in the first place. Apparently, Aiyuk didn't like Daniels laughing at a fan's NSFW commentary about him.
"Turn your savage up," Aiyuk wrote on his Instagram stories, following that message with a video also addressing Daniels:
According to internet sleuths, the two even unfollowed each other on Instagram.
But just when it seemed like Aiyuk was souring on the idea of playing with Daniels and the Commanders -- and vice versa after Daniels posted a picture of Kevin Durant giving two thumbs down -- Aiyuk came crawling back to what seems to be his only option left outside of San Francisco.
He posted one final story, a picture of himself in a Commanders cap and holding a pair of cleats, with a caption that said: "Let's Run it 5! Let's see ! Need you available all szn and I'll do the same !"
It's been a confusing pattern of behavior by Aiyuk that either explains why he's on the outs in San Francisco... or how bad he wants to be.
