Former undisputed lightweight boxing champion Devin Haney and his father are awaiting an April 6 court date after they were arrested and charged with assault in New York earlier this year for their alleged roles in a public brawl at Madison Square Garden.
The charges stemmed from an incident on Jan. 30 in which Haney and multiple members of his family were in an altercation involving welterweight boxer Delante "Tiger" Johnson.

Devin Haney has said he is now looking at other options for his next fight, saying that Rolly Romero is asking for too much money and is delusional "Rolly delusional acting like he some kind of draw but can’t sell out a ballroom. That's why the fight hasn’t been made yet.. the money isn’t right.I’m looking at other options he can go fight his mandatory since he’s such a draw."
