Bournemouth have completed an £11.1 million ($ million) deal for Sevilla right-back Juanlu as head coach Marco Rose finalises his squad for the club’s first season in Europe.
Former Spain Under-21 international Juanlu has signed a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium for an initial £9.4 million fee and could cost a further £1.7 million in add-ons.
The 22-year-old is the Cherries’ third signing of the summer following the transfers of centre-back Antonio Silva from Benfica and forward Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche.
With the arrival of Juanlu, who made 109 first-team appearances for Sevilla and helped Spain win Olympic gold at Paris 2024, Rose’s squad is understood to be “95% complete” ahead of the club’s Europa League campaign.
Bournemouth moved for a right-back after allowing Alex Jimenez to join Fiorentina on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old was suspended by the club in May following allegations concerning posts made on social media.
