The Boston Celtics are reportedly looking to make a big move in the upcoming NBA Draft, which begins on June 23.

According to a report from Jake Fischer, the Celtics are looking to move up in the first round. Boston currently has the No. 27 pick in the first round, and they also have pick No. 40 in the second round.

It's unclear why the Celtics are looking to move up, but there are multiple possible moves on the chess board, so let's take a deeper dive.

While Boston continues to loom as a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo landing spot, sources say the Celtics are looking to trade up in the first round of next Tuesday’s NBA Draft from their No. 27 pick.

The Celtics have a specific player in mind

We've seen the Celtics connected to multiple players in this draft, including Tarris Reed Jr. and Alex Karaban of UConn, Zuby Ejiofor and Dillon Mitchell of St. John's, as well as Meleek Thomas of Arkansas and Henri Veesaar of North Carolina.

Is it possible that the Celtics want to take one of those players and think they can't get them without moving up? Sure. It's also possible that the Celtics have their sights on someone else that can only be gotten by moving up.

What do the Celtics need in the draft?

Well, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. What the Celtics need is very subjective depending on who you ask.

Some people think they need a big man who can help fulfill Brad Stevens's goals of getting better at the rim. Other people might think they need another perimeter player to double down on their three-point happy approach.

The C's have been connected to players of all positions and all skillsets, so if they have a "type" of player in mind, then they aren't really showing it.

Our opinion?

In a perfect world, the Celtics would add some height with the ability to stretch the floor. The Celtics won the title with Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford able to play the pick-and-pop game, as well as the pick-and-roll game.

Can they find a player that offers the same kind of skillset? Veesaar fits the mold.

A 7-footer from Estonia, Veesaar averaged 32 minutes a game for the Heels this past season, scoring 17.0 ppg and averaging 8.7 rebounds.

He shot 60.8 percent from the floor and 42.6 percent from three-point range. He took three 3-pointers a game. He played his first two seasons at Arizona, where he averaged 9.4 ppg as a sophomore.

Another option?

The Celtics could be gearing up for a run at Giannis Antetokounmpo on the trade market by trying to acquire picks that are more enticing to the Milwaukee Bucks. The Celtics have been heavily linked to Antetokounmpo, but it's unclear where the trade conversations are at.
