The Boston Celtics have made the trade of star forward Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George and a collection of draft assets official with a release circulated to the media. Per the team, they have "acquired nine-time NBA All-Star and six-time All-NBA selection Paul George as well as future draft pick compensation from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Celtics forward Jaylen Brown."
The Celtics then highlight the return, which includes two first-round draft picks and two second-round draft picks. They include a 2028 first round pick from the Los Angeles Clippers as perhaps the best asset. Boston notes "that, if it is top 16, (it) instead becomes the unprotected right for Boston to swap its currently-held 2028 first round pick (the worst of Boston’s and (the San Antonio Spurs)) with the better of the LA Clippers’ or (if Philadelphia’s is top 8) Philadelphia’s 2028 first round pick".
The other first round pick heading to the Celtics in this trade will be the Sixers' 2031 unprotected first round pick, per the release.
As for the seconds, the most favorable 2028 second round pick among the Golden State Warriors, Milwaukee Bucks, or Oklahoma City Thunder is one of the pair of second-rounders, with the most favorable 2030 second round pick among the Phoenix Suns, Portland Trail Blazers, or the Washington Wizards.
"Paul George has been one of the best two-way wings of the last decade in the NBA and can easily fit into any group," added Stevens. "He’s looking forward to joining the Celtics, and we’re excited to welcome him and his family."

"Jaylen Brown will rightfully go down as one of the defining players of this era," said Boston President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens. "Like the best Celtics before him, he is a terrific player and has also had a huge impact off the court. On a personal level, I am thankful to have had a front row seat to the first 10 years of his illustrious career. I could go on and on, but a few sentences, paragraphs, or even chapters wouldn’t do it justice. His legacy as a Celtic is forever etched in stone."
