Boston Celtics HoFer Paul Pierce reportedly arrested on DUI suspicion

Hall of Fame Boston Celtics small forward Paul Pierce has landed in the news for all of the wrong reasons this Friday (Oct. 10) after reportedly being arrested for driving under the influence, per TMZ. The 2008 Celtics champion was evidently found by the California Highway patrol asleep at the wheel of his Range Rover on the San Fernando Valley 101 Freeway.

The road had been blocked due to an accident, with traffic on the highway grinding to a halt while the situation was addressed, and when lanes were reopened for drivers to continue, highway patrol officers reportedly found Piece asleep in his vehicle. "Officers noted signs of alcohol impairment," said the Highway Patrol officers of their assessment of the scene, ""and conducted a DUI investigation."

"Pierce was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, a violation of California Vehicle Code 23152(a), and taken to the CHP Central Los Angeles Area office," they added.
