Longtime England international Raheem Sterling has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs -Credit
ieter van der Woude/BSR Agency/Getty ImagesFormer Liverpool, Manchester City, and Arsenal forward Raheem Sterling has been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs following a crash involving his Lamborghini. Sterling, an 82-time England international, was pulled over by officers after his vehicle collided with highway barriers.
A statement released by Hampshire Police on Thursday read: "Just before 9am on Thursday, we received reports that a Lamborghini was in collision with barriers on the M3 southbound, close to the Minley Interchange. No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.
"The driver, a 31-year-old man, from Berkshire, has been arrested on suspicion of driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs, driving dangerously, possession of a Class C drug and failing to provide a specimen. He has been bailed while our enquiries continue."

Sterling was subsequently released on bail pending further investigation, as per The Mirror.
The winger's career has taken a significant downturn in recent years. Having made his name at Liverpool, Sterling went on to enjoy considerable success at Manchester City, claiming four Premier League titles during his stint at the Etihad Stadium.
However, he was offloaded to Chelsea in 2022, spending just two seasons at Stamford Bridge before being shipped out on loan to Arsenal, where he managed only one goal in 28 appearances. His remaining deal with Chelsea was terminated in January, with the winger subsequently joining Dutch side Feyenoord.
However, he managed just eight appearances and failed to find the back of the net. Discussing Sterling following his final outing for the club, Feyenoord manager and Premier League legend Robin van Persie stated: "Personally, I struggle with the cynicism surrounding him. I think respect is more appropriate. In any case, I don't like cynicism. I can't stand the whole atmosphere around him.

"Everyone has to know their place in that. And I think we sometimes go a bit overboard in the Netherlands regarding that.
"He has scored 200 goals in England and played 82 international matches," Van Persie added. "And that is regardless of whether you think he plays well or not. But I think the way we handle this as a footballing nation is really very bad."
