Legendary Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox has died at 84.
The team shared news of Cox's death on Saturday, yet another franchise pillar gone after the loss of former owner Ted Turner earlier this week. No cause of death for Cox was immediately shared.
"We are overcome with emotion on the passing of Bobby Cox, our treasured skipper," a Braves team statement read. "Bobby was the best manager to ever wear a Braves uniform."
Cox served as Atlanta's manager from 1978-81 and 1990-2010. He won a World Series with Atlanta in 1995.
