The Toronto Blue Jays have signed a former Major League outfielder's son to a minor league contract.
The 29-year-old was most recently playing for the Doosan Bears in the Korea Baseball Organization in South Korea.
According to his MLB.com profile, outfielder Daz Cameron agreed to a contract with the Blue Jays last Wednesday.
Cameron is the son of Mike Cameron, who played 17 MLB seasons and won three Gold Glove Awards for his work in center field.
The younger Cameron last played in the Majors for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2025, hitting .195 with one home run and a .507 OPS in 42 trips to the plate.
"Now in his age-29 season, Cameron has posted some big numbers at the Triple-A level over the last few years, on top of his performance in South Korea," Mark Polishuk of MLB Trade Rumors wrote.
With the Bears, Cameron slashed .287/.360/.473 in 314 plate appearances.

"His base-stealing skill and his ability to play all three outfield positions adds to his usefulness as a depth player, though it remains to be seen if the Jays will give Cameron a look in the majors," Polishuk added.
Cameron spent parts of the first three seasons of his career with the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed a 66-game stint with the Athletics in 2024.
His best path to playing time in the Majors with the Blue Jays is if the AL East club decides to sell at the deadline, or a few outfielder injuries occur.
