The Toronto Blue Jays have a chance to make some international baseball history.
If things move a certain way, they'll be welcoming the country of Slovakia to MLB.
This all stems from the injury to Cody Ponce, which has opened the door for a new starting pitcher in Toronto's rotation.
They're already missing Shane Bieber, Trey Yesavage and Jose Berrios due to injuries, and so there is a move coming.
It's likely that one of two pitchers will get Ponce's next turn in the rotation: Lazaro Estrada or Adam Macko.
No offense to Estrada, but he wouldn't be a history maker.
Macko would be the first pitcher born in Slovakia since the country's independence to pitch in the major leagues.

Macko is 25 years old and just pitched in the World Baseball Classic in March.
He's originally a seventh-round pick by the Mariners in the 2019 MLB Draft out of a high school in Alberta.
The southpaw had a 5.06 ERA in Triple-A last season, and he has two scoreless outings to start this campaign at that level with the Buffalo Bison.
And pretty soon, Macko might make history.
