Sep. 16—JAMESTOWN — The Jamestown High School girls golf team wrapped up the regular season on Tuesday.

"What a great couple days," JHS head coach Katie Hemmer said. "The Blue Jays played some really good golf today — they also found some of the many hazards on Prairie West. Overall, we finished strong, as a team, with a tie for fifth place."

The Jays scored a 373 at Prairie West Golf Course.

Senior Belle Sjostorm finished 14th individually with an 89 — just one shot off an individual qualification for the 2025 State Tournament. Mylee Michel was the Jays' team leader with an 11th place finish and a score of 87.

Hemmer continued down the Jays' lineup.

"Braelyn (Wiese) had a pretty good round of 94, and she was on track for a new personal record until she found the water hazards on her second nine," Hemmer said. "... Katelyn Monson stepped up to round out the team score with a 103. She had a good putter today. I know if she can stay out of some course hazards, she will easily get a us 4th score in the 90s."

The Blue Jays junior varsity team finished up its season on Tuesday.

"I really saw an incredible amount of progress in the JV athletes," Hemmer said. "It is fun to see the program develop, and we will have some shoes to fill with four graduating seniors."

The Blue Jay varsity crew is set to begin its postseason next week. The 2025 WDA Tournament is set to tee off on Sept. 22.
