The question is, who do you think was the biggest bust in Cardinals history?

WADSWORTH...After finally winning a playoff game we thought we had a guy that could bring the Heat for the next 7 or 8 years. HE just couldn't hold up. Injuries kill......... Second place goes to the "Rats Ass". I'm not sure anyone could have lived up to the billing he got coming out... The next Montana ...they must have been talking about ... The next Joe..because thats all he was...wasted time.

Kelly Stouffer.

I don't consider guys whose career's were ended by injury a "Bust".

I will never consider Wadsworth a bust in that sense. I also think labeling Jake a bust is highly questionable too.
Did he live up to expectations? No, but neither was he the total failure that some keep insisting he was.

I think a bust is a very high draft pick that never pans out, whether it's due to injury or poor performance, or whatever.

I consider Wads a bust. Would we have been better off, in hindsight, picking another player? YES. He's a bust.

Jake wasn't a very high draft pick, so I don't consider him a bust. He also was a starting qb for us for years and will be a starter in Denver. Don't see how that's a bust.

Have to agree with TANGO. Someone who fails through no fault of their own doesn't qualify as a "bust", to my mind...

Tom Knight wasn't a bust because everyone knew he sucked. I think if somebody was to define BUST, there would have to be "the potential for great things" included in the definition, which Tom Knight never had.

"the potential for great things" has to be included in the definition of Bust... Some of the people listed were unknowns( thats just the history of cards Drafts) Wadsworth was our highest pick ever and he didn't go to another team and be successful in the NFL so he is a bust injury or not. Plummer...the jury is out on...only because he might have a miracle finish to his career and win something in Denver. He never will be anything but a bust in Arizona...that speaks for it's self..........

....Kelly Stouffer...since Jerome Brown (who was a stud before his fatal accident) and even more importantly Rod Woodson were picked right after Stouffer. I vividly recall the late Joel Buschbaum of PFW touting Woodson heavily, and being so excited that it looked like the Cards would take him (I was talking him up to a few of my buddies who were Steelers fans). I cut high school in order to watch ESPN's coverage (I think it was a Tuesday), and then we go ahead and take that stiff Stouffer.......kills me to this day. My Steelers buddies call me from school and laugh that we passed on Woodson and they got him....some stuff just sticks with you for decades.

TJ is soaring up this list since we have now cut Walker and have zero to show for that pick. He still might produce for Tampa this year.

Tough to knock Anthony Thompson since he was a 2nd rd pick, no?


Clyde Duncan and John Lee (2nd rd) were huge busts as we all know.

At least in the "Arizona Cardinals" era, I would go with Thomas Jones, with Andre Wadsworth as a close second. Maybe even Garrison Hearst as the third worst BUST!
