Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I don't like the way the Cardinals secondary matches up with Cinci's WR's, so let's give up.

I'm not quite sure why you've got a bug up your butt for me.

The Cards will come out an try to play predictable "smash mouth" football, which will easily be stopped with 7 or 8 men in the box by the Bengals.

Many (maybe most) of the good runs by Shipp last week were out of 3 WR formations in the form of draws, delays, and traps. When the Cards got in the red zone, they reverted to their predictable "power running game". Even Tim Green (who is lucky to notice anything), commented how well the O-line played, EXCEPT when blocking 8 men.

Defensively, I liked what I saw last week also. The D was active, and looked as though they used the bye-week well to prepare for the Niners. Hopefully, some of the defensive players will continue to distinguish themselves, giving us something to look forward to in the future.

But offensively, if they don't establish a passing game, or at least the look of a passing game, last week will have been just another tease for Cardinals' fans.

Cards win, and win big.

Cards 37 - Bengals 21. Alright, big by Cardinals standards. I think Anquan has his best game since the opener.

x-29 and Russ expressed parts of what I expect.

Bengals have been SHREDDED for over 300 yds per game the last two games. Clearly, they have a weakness there but McGinnis is only going to dress 4 WRs, at least that's what he told Jo Spakes.

To have a wide open, 35 to 39 pass attempt game plan, you need 6 WRs in the rotation, IMO.

So, Sullivan must be planning more smash mouth football, something Marvin Lewis can play well and scheme against with run blitzes.

On offense, the Bengals are fairly competent but particularly adept at passing and pass defense is our weakness. Our corners will play off and be repeatedly toasted.

I think the Bengals coaching staff wins this one with a superior plan. The talent is similar.

I think maybe the pass rush is starting to come around enough that the CB vulnerability isn't quite as apparant.
If the defense plays anywhere near like they did last week, which I think they will, then I think we can also start to see the turnover situation more like it was last week also.

One of the weaknesses I have felt contributed to the losing streak was a....not exactly lethargic defese...but neither one (other than Wilson, and sometimes Thompson & McKinnon) really showing much real agressiveness.

They were all "popping" last week, and I think the confidence gained from that game will carry over, and we WILL see some more nice "sticks".

I look for at least one nice long receiving score today, and if the Bengels try to cheat towards the run too much with 8 in the box, etc.....they WILL get burned.

The learning curve continures for both players and coaches, (especially Sully)

Agreed! I think between Quan and Shipp, they will have 75% of our yards today. I say 115 for Shipp and 145 for Quan. Cards win 31-20!!!

Pretty much agree with everything you said, Tango. I feel good about this weeks game, too, because with last weeks win and the signings, I think the players will be pumped up.

Still, I've predicted losses for our two victories, and I don't want to change up the mojo.

Blake 3 Td Passes(10) (Boldin(3), Jones(3) and Johnson(1), a long one would be nice) and no Ints(9). Shipp at least 90 yds and another TD. Defense 3 sacks and 2 or 3 TOs. Same motivation and attitude as last week. Poorer opponent and capitalizing on breaks is the difference in margin.
