Depends

Depends on which Cards team shows up.

Will it be the we're gonna hit ya till ya bleed young aggressive defense or:

Will it be the we can't win because we suck team.

Stay tuned.

There are three WR tandems in the NFL that are head and shoulders above all others:

1. Issac Bruce & Torry Holt
2. Hinz Ward & Plaxico Burress
3. Chad Johnson & Peter Warrick

You saw what happened with the Rams, and Johnson and Warrick are almost as good. Jon Kitna, lacking a TON of pressure, is a good QB (similar to Kerry Collins, really). Unlike the 49ers, the exterior offensive line for the Bengals is good, any pass rush is going to have to come from the interior, or through stunts. I don't like the matchup at all for the Cards D. Kitna has a newfound confidence in this team, saying that they could come out of these next nine games 8-1 or better (they play us, Houston, and San Diego soon). Corey Dillion probably isn't going to be much of a factor.

On offense, the Bengals are just a fundamentally sound squad. They're going to be riding high off of a monster performance against the Seahawks, and a two-game winning streak. Jeff Blake has to be careful not to be lulled into a comfort zone versus a no-name secondary (as I think he was by the secondaries of St. Louis and Detroit). The Bengals front seven just gets the job done, even without Takeo Spikes. They're used to playing against backs like Marcel (William Green, Jerome Bettis, and Jamal Lewis are all power backs), so they're not going to take the linebacking crew by surprise. If the Defense stumbles or bogs down in the Red Zone more than once or twice, this game is going to get ugly fast.

I don't think that Mac is going to be able to get this team ready after the 49er win. I don't think that he's probably as quick to point out the things that happened WRONG last week and make last Sunday's effort into a learning experience. Cheese is right in saying that Lewis is a good coach and can manage a game with more confidence than your usual rookie coach. He's not going to let this game be a let down.

EDIT: Finally, I think that the crowd for this game is going to be small. It was obvious that this team was feeding off the energy of a good crowd last week, and I don't see that happening again this week. No one wants to come out to see the Bengals.

Bengals: 24
Cards: 17

This game isn't going to be as close as it looks.

I think Joe Horn and Donte Stallworth are pretty solid.
So make it 24-20.

Our only hope (scary as this may be) is pass rush. We need to get pressure on Kitna ALL DAY. We need to bring it fast so the speed of the Bengals' wide outs can't be utilized.

Let's hope that DJ and Pace make another monumental step this week in practice.

Let's just give up Mariah.

Donte Stallworth has played for **** lately, and, while I expect for him to have a solid career, I don't really expect him to live up to his billing in the draft. I kind of imagine him an Az Hakim-type: he'll always be better out of the slot, but is too sleight to be an every-down guy.

I don't follow, Blake LIT UP Detroit, until the fumble and the pick which only happened because Gilmore ran the wrong route.

Blake was very mediocre against the Rams, I'm not sure how you can cite those 2 games as examples of him getting too comfortable they were totally different performances.

I agree the Bengals scare me they look quite good on paper. But they also have a QB whose played well for 4 games in a row but who's not that good of a player, I tend to think things like that even out over time,he's due for an off game.

If we get no pressure he'll have open WR's all game, I just hope we get some pressure.

The Bengals seem to be a zone or cover 2 team, a team that wants to make you dink and dunk downfield hoping that you'll get impatient(ask Jake Plummer) and force a ball they can pick. If we stick to last week's gameplan we match up perfectly, if Blake gets antsy, look out. But he beat them twice last year playing that exact style.

I just don't see where you can put Warrick up with any of the top three WR combos. If he were a Cardinal you'd be bagging on his fumbling problems.

We are a different team when we're healthy on the line. We saw last week what a rotation at the point of attack can do for us.

This is the way I'm thinking.

Obviously we're going to try to lean on them with our O-line. I think if the bungles don't put eight in the box, they won't be able to stop Shipp.

If they do bring the safety up, then it will be up to Blake, Quan, Johnson and Gilmore. I think they can get it done, but I won't say that I'm completely confident.

On defense, I think our d line will play even better than last week. I think we'll shut down their run game and get pressure on Kitna. The problem will be our pass defense. Overall, however, I think the defensive will play well enough for us to win.

This is actually an interesting game. I predict that we'll be +1 in the turnover department a squeak out an exciting and entertaining win.

I actually can't wait for this game - and think it could be one of the better ones of the year - even though the Bengals are better - there not so much better than us - that this game won't be competitve. I'm just psyched cause I get to see my two favorite players in action - Marcel and Chad Johnson (he's on my fantasy team and I liked him guaranteeing Vs last season when the Bengals were horrible - the kid's got talent and attitude - always a good combo.)

Bring on Sunday - a lot of people just see thisd as Cards v. Bengals and are staying away in droves when in actuality, this is one of the better even match-ups of the week.

I like WR pairings where one is a fast guy that can get beind safeties (in this case, Johnson) and another one who is kind of savvy, a decent-sized target, and can move once he gets the ball (that's Warrick). Individually, they're all right, but as a tandem, they're scary.

I don't bag on Boldin's "fumbling probems," but I still get the willies when Shipp is toting the rock inside the five, and if you didn't have them last week, too, you're a liar.

k9, with the exception of the Seattle travesty last year, Shipp has been pretty solid holding onto the rock hasn't he? I haven't gotten the willies watching him this year like I did last year. It looks like he's more cautious about not fumbling now.

Shipp and co. will have another 100+yd. game. This week will be different as for play calling, in certain situations, and clock management. Look for a bit more of an air attack this week as the beengals have to put eight in the box mucho tiempo!

I'm going with this one!

The Bengals offense is ranked 19th and our defense is ranked 15th.

Our offense is ranked 26th and the Bengals defense is ranked 24th.

The defense seems to be coming together. They were ferocious against Frisco and shut down Owens, Hearst, Garcia & Barlow.

I think our defense will be the difference. Cardinals win!

For the LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!! WOULD YOU GUYS STOP BITCHING BACK AND FORTH AT EACHOTHER?

If there is one thread we should stick together on, it's this one. Save the bitching for later in the week. Some of you guys make me sick. I'm taking some time off from this board, you guys are just too much. I'm sick of CHEESY bitching about everything, YES, i was one of the guys who stuck up for him when banning him was the topic, and YES, I regret that now. CHEESY, all you do is cause problems. It's one thing to have a different point of view, but all you do is cause problems, and fights, and then more problems and more fights. I'm sick of it, and I'm sorry that I ever put any faith in you , I was wrong. I'm taking a week off from this board. The fightsing is just too much!!!

LOL! I was thinking the same thing. I was looking back on this thread for bitching and didn't find any.

I like mdsisquo, but Jeez! Lighten up. Just a friendly disagreement. (On a different thread of course) The thing that annoys him I think, and others too no doubt, is that cheese and I both think we are right and both like to get in the last word whenever possible.

I didn't think it was bad enough to cause mdsisquo to take a week off though.

For what its worth this could come down to our kicking game again. I see a low scoring affair and a field position battle. If the wind keeps blowing like it has the long ball will be difficult to throw and punting will be an adventure.
This will be my first game attended this year, daytrippin up from Tucson on the bus. Were wingin it on tickets figuring to pick up some cheap seats via the scalpers.
Its my understanding the several ASFNers congregate at a suds station at the half. Could you provide the location. Id like to put some names and faces together.
